As things are now...
It has been a very long time since I have blogged studio images as it is while working! This is why I opted to use my bedroom in my new space as my studio. I have a aversion to visual clutter so having this in a dedicated space was required to maintain my sanity. In case you are wondering, I have a storage unit that stores my felting machine, extra tables and most of my fabulous wool. What I have here is what I need until my lease expires and then a new game plan will be in place!
I feel an obligation to keep new work under wraps before an exhibition so this is a wee peek before everything gets professionally shot. This body of work seems a long time coming as there were many transitions in my life and a move of home and studio. All difficult, but very positive. It has taken me a year to create the 14 sculptures in this new series. Having a diverse practice means new "Art" work is precious...each sculpture created with great intention and direction with specific time set aside to do so. I truly look forward to unveiling it to you once the exhibition opens in Verona, Italy (Pinch me)
I then have additional travel and teaching before my exhibition in Montreal at the Canadian Guild of Craft where these and other pieces will be available. Excited as I move forward.
I head out to Cleveland in a couple of weeks and will have lots of pictures and workshop images to share, so things are about to get a whole lot more interesting. I will keep you posted, as always.
