As things are now...

It has been a very long time since I have blogged studio images as it is while working! This is why I opted to use my bedroom in my new space as my studio. I have a aversion to visual clutter so having this in a dedicated space was required to maintain my sanity. In case you are wondering, I have a storage unit that stores my felting machine, extra tables and most of my fabulous wool. What I have here is what I need until my lease expires and then a new game plan will be in place!

I feel an obligation to keep new work under wraps before an exhibition so this is a wee peek before everything gets professionally shot. This body of work seems a long time coming as there were many transitions in my life and a move of home and studio. All difficult, but very positive. It has taken me a year to create the 14 sculptures in this new series. Having a diverse practice means new "Art" work is precious...each sculpture created with great intention and direction with specific time set aside to do so. I truly look forward to unveiling it to you once the exhibition opens in Verona, Italy (Pinch me)

I then have additional travel and teaching before my exhibition in Montreal at the Canadian Guild of Craft where these and other pieces will be available. Excited as I move forward.

I head out to Cleveland in a couple of weeks and will have lots of pictures and workshop images to share, so things are about to get a whole lot more interesting. I will keep you posted, as always.

Countdown

It is finally close at hand...my epic travel schedule and tour. I begin my Spring travel with the Cleveland Museum of Art and I do not stop, it seems, until the year ends. The most intense will be May and June with 8 cities in 4 countries. This will include my solo exhibition in Verona, Italy and a special video project with the incomparable DHG. I am very much looking forward to my home base New England Felting Supply in July. I hope to see some old friends and new faces. The best place ever to take a workshop :o) and shop!

I am looking forward to it all beginning. I have dozens of eager people anticipating what I have to teach which drives me to up my game and prepare to inspire, educate and encourage in new ways.

I am booking up 2016 and 2017 with a lighter teaching load to allow time for new work and reflection. I always find it interesting and liberating to have the flexibility to morph what I do to both suit my creative needs while remaining above water. Speaking of water...I have an exciting teaching event to occur the end of November to tell you about very soon. I will keep you posted!
